Our History

Gillis TV Service was founded in 1994 by owner Larry Gillis after spending several years doing home electronics repair service for GE and RCA factory service center. He is a licensed master technician who has over 40+ years of experience in the field. In the early 2000s, during the migration to flat screen TVs, he brought in his son Wade Gillis who specialized in PC repair. After spending years learning the ropes he has become the primary shop repair technician.

Today we are still a small father and son team dedicated to quality service at a reasonable price. Our service is a much cheaper alternative to most of the shops in Memphis because we work out of a TV shop built next to the owners home. This allows us to operate without a big over head cost which enables us to lower the cost of repair by passing those savings to you.

Our in-shop service fee is only $60 and it is subtracted from the final bill. If the set is deemed unrepairable this fee covers shipping and restocking fees that we have to pay to send parts back as well as the time spent diagnosing and researching the problems with your TV.

*We do not provide behind the wall wiring services for TV and Home Theater installations.

**The price of TVs has been dropping rapidly since 2015. In turn it has become much more cost effective to bring less expensive sets to the shop. Before servicing your set we will discuss the most cost effective options and determine what makes the most sense for your repair.
